We’re a congregation that cares.
As Christians, we care about others and strive to have a positive impact on other people’s lives. Whether it’s someone in our congregation, our community or our world, we strive to be there in times of need, joy and everything in between.
We demonstrate our caring spirit every day. We volunteer. We reach out to charitable organizations. Our Annual Church picnic supports missions both within the congregation and community. You will find us serving at the NEW Shelter, the DPCO Thrift Store and Food Pantry, Woodside Homes and throughout the community. Whether it’s stocking shelves, donating food or raising funds to buy fruit trees for folks on the other side of the world, we help our neighbors in need.
Everywhere we look, there is good work waiting to be done. St. John Lutheran offers a wide range of opportunities to get involved and make a difference. There are countless ways – both big and small – that we can help share God’s love with the world.
Here are just a few of the many ways we make our caring spirit come to life:
- One Saturday a month our volunteers prepare and serve dinner at the NEW Community Shelter.
- This summer our youth landscaped at Syble Hopp, stocked the shelves at The Giving Tree and sorted clothing at the Community Clothes Closet.
- Each week you will find St. John members working at the DePere Christian Outreach Thrift Store and bringing food supplies to the DPCO Food Pantry.
- The VBS kids raised funds this summer to buy bibles and story books for those who would otherwise have to go without.
