Confirmation

Confirmation dayConfirmation

The St. John Lutheran Church confirmation program is designed to engage  middle school age students in growing in faith.. Our 5th and 6th grade students participate in classes where they build a strong base in bible knowledge. One year the focus is on the Old Testament. The other year we focus on the New Testament. Our 7th and 8th grade students focus on Lutheran perspectives and our role in the world.

Confirmation is a four year program beginning in 5th grade and culminating with  8th grade students affirming their faith (Confirmation Day).

Please use this registration form  to sign your child up to be part of the confirmation experience.

Parent and other adult involvement is vital to the faith development of these students.  Therefore our program includes a strong emphasis on parent participation.

Classes for the 2022-2023 year will begin on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 and run until Ash Wednesday with additional instruction during Lent for 8th Grade students confirming their faith in the spring.

Worship Notes: All 5th-8th grade students are expected to complete 2 Sermon Notes per month October 2022 through May 2023. Download or copy the form below, fill it out and email to pastorcindy@stjohndepere.org or leave in Pastor’s mailbox after service.

Blessed to Serve!

October 7, 2020

The New Community Shelter welcomed eight of us to humbly serve their residents and the community a hot meal this past Saturday night. Our high school volunteers safely prepared and handed out more than 150 meals, received a tour of the building and enjoyed each others company. We felt grateful to be able to volunteer our time and our safely masked smiles to the greater Green Bay community! We hope to be able to serve again soon!

Creating a positive impact

St. John logoWe’re a congregation that cares. As Christians, we care about others and strive to have a positive impact on other people’s lives. Whether it’s someone in our congregation, our community or our world, we’re there in times of need, in times of joy and all the times between.

We demonstrate our caring spirit every day. We volunteer. We reach out to charitable organizations.  Whether it’s painting a house, donating food or raising funds to buy fruit trees for others across the globe, we help our neighbors in need. Read more about our people and our congregation »

Worship and building updates

September 21, 2022

The Congregation Council has amended its Covid-19 protocol.  Effective September 21, 2022, St. John will no longer be requiring that masks be worn based upon the Brown County Covid-19 Community Transmission Rate.  Any individual who needs to or prefers to wear a mask is welcomed to do so. The Congregation Council will continue to monitor the situation and adjust these protocols as needed.

The 8:00 a.m. (9:00am summer) service will be livestreamed and available on our YouTube channel.

The Council continues to review information from health officials and will modify our guidelines as is appropriate.
